Ghana Integrated Iron & Steel Masterplan

MASTERPLAN OVERVIEW

Ghana Integrated Iron & Steel Masterplan

The Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Masterplan establishes a strategic pathway for building a vertically integrated national steel industry, spanning iron ore mining and beneficiation through billet production, rolling mills, fabrication and downstream steel products.

The Masterplan recognises steel as a foundational material for infrastructure, housing, transport, machinery and manufacturing competitiveness. It outlines phased investment strategies, industrial park integration, energy alignment and financing mechanisms to reduce imports and strengthen domestic production capacity.

By anchoring infrastructure development in domestic steel production, the Plan strengthens economic resilience, supports job creation and advances long-term industrial self-reliance.

Core Focus Areas
