Institutional Governance Structure

The Institute for Infrastructure Development (IID) operates under a structured governance framework designed to ensure institutional integrity, research independence and long-term strategic direction across its research and programme activities.

Through the leadership of its Executive Director and the oversight of the Board of Trustees, the Institute advances integrated infrastructure and industrial development frameworks that support national transformation, long-term economic growth and sustainable development priorities.

Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees provides strategic oversight, governance direction and fiduciary stewardship for the Institute for Infrastructure Development (IID).

Comprising distinguished professionals from infrastructure, finance, academia, law, engineering, and public policy, the Board ensures that IID remains independent, mission-driven, and globally credible.

The Trustees guide long-term strategy, safeguard research integrity and ensure that the Institute operates to the highest standards of accountability, transparency and institutional excellence.

INSTITUTIONAL GOVERNANCE

Executive Director

Ing, Charles K. Boakye serves as the Founding Executive Director of the Institute for Infrastructure Development (IID), providing strategic leadership across the Institute’s research agenda, institutional partnerships and programme execution.

Within IID’s governance structure, the Executive Director is responsible for guiding the Institute’s policy direction, overseeing research and programme implementation, and ensuring alignment between long-term development vision and practical national transformation strategies.

Working with the Board of Trustees, Research Fellows and Advisory Council, he leads the Institute’s efforts to design integrated infrastructure and industrial development frameworks that support productivity growth and long-term economic transformation.

Research Fellows

IID’s Research Fellows are multidisciplinary experts in infrastructure planning, industrial systems, finance, energy policy, environmental sustainability and institutional governance.

The Fellowship comprises senior researchers, technical specialists, policy analysts and emerging scholars committed to rigorous research and practical solutions.

Together, they contribute to the Institute’s work by developing national masterplans, producing policy research and designing implementation frameworks that support long-term infrastructure and industrial development.
